It's the final countdown! (Da da da daaa....)

Well, only two weeks left of fourth year here in Truro - thank god that it’s almost over!
It’s been one hell of a year full of ups and downs, challenges and rewards.

The Ups
  • Meeting loads of new people
  • Making big decisions about my future
  • Organising the elective of my dreams
  • Coming out the other side of all the assessments
  • Taking my cycling up a notch
  • Having my work presented as posters at national conferences
  • Becoming a godfather (technically this was at the end of third year, but I knew I was definitely going into fourth year, so I’m counting it)
The Downs
  • The assessments
  • Getting over my break-up
  • Family health
  • All the random little annoyances that get to us all

So on paper, the ‘Ups’ definitely outweigh the ‘Downs’ and being able to see this written down really does act as a boost. In fact, I’d go so far as to recommend doing it if you’re finding all the crap in your life seems to be overwhelming you.

Just one final block of assessments to wade through in just over a week and then I can (hopefully) say I’ve completed fourth year of medical school. It may have taken five years to get to this point but dammit, it’s been one hell of a ride!
